2012 Conference - Still Life?
The Fifth Annual Stony Brook Philosophy and the Arts Conference took place March 30-31, 2012, at the AC Institute in Chelsea. We had an excellent lineup of philosophers, artists, art historians, and scholars from other fields coming from across North America to present their ideas and artworks. Our Keynote Speaker Dr. David Wood (Vanderbilt University, Philosophy) addressed the conference on Friday evening and Artist Speaker Reynold Reynolds (http://www.reynold-reynolds.com/) presented his work on Saturday.
On April 13, 2012, the AC Institute hosted a satellite event for the SBU Philosophy and the Arts Conference: the book release of Heidegger Among the Sculptors: Body, Space, and the Art of Dwelling by Dr. Andrew J. Mitchell, Department of Philosophy, Emory University.
